05/26/10 - "Wooden Spoons and Apron Strings" Cupcake Classes
Today, my son Michele and I, went to Ankeny Iowa to participate in a “Baby Cakes” Workshop where we made scrumptious cup cakes and delicious frostings! Wooden Spoons and Apron Strings is a clever named cooking school run by Deb Cazavilan. We learned to make several wonderful cupcake recipies (the way we like at Cafe Dodici, all fresh natural ingredients from scratch!) and many basics to get started experimenting on our own. Of course we had the pleasure of sampling various delicacies!
Deb was charming, patient and fun. She also gives classes for pizza making and more gluttonous techinques...Take some time off and take a day trip to delight your senses!

IPTV aired a program called "Simple Pleasures" with a special about Cafe Dodici, Interviewing Lorraine, Alessandro and Tsalika and showing all the particular aspects of our dining experience in this show hosted by Dan Kaercher. Iowa's Simple Pleasures is a new series produced by Iowa Public Television that highlights fun things for Iowans to do, see, and taste, right here at home.

02/20/10 - The Iowa Source - Best Restaurants in Iowa 2010
Every year The Iowa Source Magazine allows us all to vote for our favorite restaurants in Iowa. There are various categories, which slightly change every year. Cafe Dodici has won more awards in this contest than any restaurant ever! This year we won in the following categories:
- Best Sunday Brunch
- Best Special-Occasion Dining
And we were finalists in every other category.
